High School Musical tells the story of two students, Troy (Zac Efron) the popular high school jock and Gabriella (Vanessa Ann Hudgens), a shy academic student who are brought together through their love of singing.
Against the wishes of their friends, they decide to try out for the high school musical but they need to break out of their high school moulds to follow their theatre dreams together. This is not made easy as their respective friends attempt to thwart their ambitions - will they retain this love when their school is telling them they cannot be together?
