Set in the infamous Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, where excellence and discipline are essential, Annapolis is an action-packed drama, following one young man's attempt to fulfil his life-long dream of becoming a naval commander.
Starring James Franco (Spiderman 3, The Great Raid) as the male lead and with a dynamic supporting cast, including Donnie Wahlberg (Band of Brothers, Saw II), Tyrese Gibson (2 Fast 2 Furious, Four Brothers) and the alluring but tough Jordana Brewster (The Fast and the Furious, The Faculty), Annapolis has all the ingredients to enthral audiences when it is released on DVD on the 7th August.
James Franco is a regular American kid from humble roots and is expected to become no more than a shipyard labourer like his father. Franco however has other ideas for himself and his dreams come true when he is accepted into the Naval Academy in Annapolis. His jubilation at being accepted soon wanes when he realises that the Academy is a place where only the very best survive. Struggling to even make the grade as a Freshman or 'Plebe', he feels the only way to prove himself and validate his Lieutenant's faith in him is to enter the notorious Navy Boxing Championship - where future leaders are created or destroyed. With the help of the beautiful leader Ali (Jordana Brewster) who is a skilled boxing trainer, he faces the ultimate obstacle in a final showdown with his tough commander Midshipman Lt. Cole (Tyrese Gibson). With his future career and pride hanging in the balance - it will take Franco all his courage to win this fight.
You can get even closer to the action with the bonus features. 'The Brigades' is an action-packed feature which looks at the tough training the actors went through to fight like real boxers, while 'Plebe Year - The Story of Annapolis' gives an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, including commentary from the cast and crew.
